New Year's Wishes

The “Being a Midwife” blog sends you its most warm wishes for 2021. We all hope the New Year will bring happiness, love, and most importantly, health to everyone. Let’s all together work this year to improve healthcare conditions and birth experiences. We shall have hope for more friendly births and less cases of obstetric violence. Additionally, we have to work on minimizing biased births and promoting free birth choices.

2020 was not the best year ever existed, but it brought happiness to lots of people whom gave birth to their babies. They faced plenty of obstacles throughout this experience, due to the SarsCOV-2 situation that affects the whole world. A great amount of pregnant parents gave birth in hospitals without the support of their loved ones and their midwives, even without their partner at some cases. Pregnant parents infected from COVID-19 gave birth to perfectly healthy babies at most times. The struggle was real, even more for those that their babies came to this world infected. But, overall, over 140 millions of babies were born the past year and this can only be good news.

"2020 has passed and 2021 is here to bring new opportunities, great experiences and fresh opinions. Let 2021 be the year to cancel all the negative emotions that 2020 gave to us."

Have a happy happy New Year!
